The Radio Frequency (RF) system offers excellent detection levels. The slimline and unobtrusive antennas are able to span a distance of up to 1200mm. The system is available as a single aisle or dual aisle and can be used in either the by-pass or full circulation mode of operation:
- By-pass is when the borrower passes the items for loan to the librarian for issue and walks between the antennas as the items are passed around the system ready for collection the other side.
- Full circulation is where both the borrower and the items for loan can pass between the antennas once they have been issued using a desensitising card.
The use of RF technology makes it completely harmless to electro medical equipment such as hearing aids and pacemakers and is wholly compatible with all known library management software.
